We are Home!

27 07 2008

We made it!! The Lord gave us great traveling mercies last night and I think we would all agree that sleeping in our own beds wasn’t too shabby. But at the same time we are all missing the island. It was hard to wake up and not look forward to seeing all the beautiful faces and kind people of Roatan. There is so much to process and even more to continue to pray about for our new family. We are going to be trying to put a few more post’s up in the near future, so be sure to stayed tuned. We Love you all and thank you so much for praying for us while we were in country, please continue to pray for the Islanders of Roatan and the continued work that the Lord in that beautiful place.

Here’s a video of some celebration time we had while there:

Also here are some shots from our final hours on the island. There’s some beautiful scenery shots and a few shots of the friends and family we made.

Finishing Strong

26 07 2008

The Lord delivered a wonderful message to us both this morning and this evening through two different messengers. This morning started with sister DJ teaching a fantastic message out of Hebrews 6:10. Jesus spoke so mightily through her, it was truly a blessing. Then we got to close this evening and our final full day here with a “Revival Service”!(Man these people know how to worship Jesus!) We had a special guest speaker, Pastor Marco bring us the good word tonight and wouldn’t you know it, The Lord drew him straight to Hebrews 6:10 without having any idea what we had talked about earlier in the day. Isn’t God amazing? WOW! Between those service we got a bit of play time in, we got to roll over the west side of the island and see some the most beautiful landscape you have every laid your eyes upon. We did a bit of snorkeling and floating in this gorgeous ocean.

By the time I am writing this mostly everyone seems to be feeling pretty healthy. Thank you for praying, your prayers are coveted more than you will ever understand. We come home tomorrow evening pretty late so we ask that you cover us in prayer as we travel and then as we get back to our homes, jobs and lives.

All of us will certainly be shedding some tears tomorrow as we leave. Bringing home more than we know right now. It is hard to describ (being this far away) how incredible our God is that we serve and that He is moving mightily in other areas of the world. The experiences we have taken from this trip will be lasting all of us a lifetime. The lives that have touched us and the kindness and loving spirit of the people of this community are a major encouragement to us. The common thread among every teammate is that we desire to bring home the type of love and excitement that we have experienced here in Roatan. Just remember that God is working in other nations and please be mindful that prayer is the number one need for these nations. So please seek The Father for Pandy Town and all of Roatan. Blessings to all of you and thanks for staying tuned to the blog and sharing in the adventure. We hope to get an update or two out after we get back home with maybe some more pics and other fun stuff, so stayed tuned a bit longer : )

Love You,
The Tan Team

Prayer is Powerful

25 07 2008

The Lord has been great today! We got to pray for many people in the community for healings, salvation and more Jesus in their lives. We got to pray for a young man from the community who was being diagnosed with malaria. When the team came in contact with him he was at the clinic hooked to IV’s and shaking with a major fever. So we prayed……Later that evening we were at the community center and had just finished having dinner and the women were having a womens worship and prayer night. Sean was down stairs while a few of us were upstairs, he came jogging up the stairs and said, “Guess what?”, the boy we prayed from today is right there, pointing to the street, and needless to stay the boy was right below us just throwing around a frisbee and playing with all the children!!! Praise Jesus! He said to sean thank you for praying for me I am fine! WOW!! Then we had a the great opportunity to pray for and invite women to the Bible study last night, we specifically prayed that The Lord would be thick and present and that the elderly women would have enough strength to make it up the stairs into the church. Sure enough Mrs.Krissy Rico brought the gospel through her amazing testimony and a mixture of our gals and the local gals brought some of the most incredible worship unto the Lord that we have every witnessed! Women were singing and dancing and praising the Holy name of Jesus! Every woman that came out of that place left filled and stoked on their Jesus! That’s all we have time for now, but please be praying for health for our team a few of the team members have been randomly battling health issues.

Big Love!,
The Tan Team

We are Blessed

24 07 2008

Well another great day or two has gone by since the last post and we have been so blessed! The people of Pandy-Town are so rad! Jesus has been doing “exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask or hope for”! His faithfulness is so unbelievable. Well on day four we got to celebrate a couple of amazing events, it wasn’t only Becky’s 21st B-Day it was Sean and DJ’s 2nd anniversary. They both got surprised with a cake and party at the community center after church that night. It was so much fun, we played a bunch of games we have never seen before and “mostly” lost, but had a great time. On the fifth day we got to spend some time ministering to the community more, Erin and Bri broke out the string and all the kid’s went to town making necklaces and bracelets for themselves as well as the girls on our team. Also brother Erich had the great opportunity to share Jesus with a young man that decided to accept Jesus into his heart today! It was so cool to see the Lord work through Erich to speak into this young mans life. We are all getting so attached to people here, especially the kids, it is going to be hard to say goodbye in a couple days!

Please continue to pray for discernment for the team as we head out tomorrow to invite women to a women’s Bible study tomorrow(Thursday) night. Our desire is to see every woman from Pandy town that the Lord desires to be at this meeting be there, so please join with us in praying for that to take place. Thank you all so much for your prayers so far, we can definitely feel them and know that although we are a ways away Jesus is answering your prayers for us right here in Roatan. Isn’t that amazing!

Praises,
The Tan Team

What a glorious day!

22 07 2008

The Lord has been so good to us once again today! Glory to God! We are so stoked to be apart of the Lord’s work here in Roatan. Today we got to do some work around the church and go out into the streets and invite the men of Pandy-Town to a men’s Bible study at the church. That was truly a blessing for all of us, we a fantastic group of men show up and the Lord did some serious business in the hearts of the men of this island! We got to hear from Mr.Tino Rico tonight and we were all truly blessed at his testimony, what a beautiful representation of Christ faithfulness through that man. We also got a chance to do some more ministry with the kid’s today and Ms.Kredel even had a bit of school time with them and the kid’s were super stoked. Also we got to share Brianna’s 22nd b-day with her and the ladies of the church surprised her with a cake a really fun party!

Please as always continue to pray for us as we learn how to love the people of Pandy-Town and how we can best serve them while were here. It seems as though the Lord has some very specific spiritual needs for this community right now and we just really want to keep tuned in and ready for His next move for us. We are truly blessed here and just absolutely loving every bit of this adventure. Here are some more pics from our continuing adventure.

Much Love and Blessings,
The Tan Team

Pics from Day 2

21 07 2008

We had a great 2nd day on the island. We had the great opportunity to serve a widow and her adopted children in a small village called Porta Gorda. We got to pray with her and play with the kids. It was truly a blessing. Then in the afternoon we got to “Have some Church”! Our beloved leader Sean got to bring tha word and a few of the team played some worship as well. Jesus rocked that church last night and we were so pumped to get to be a part of it. Pastor Hank did an alter call afterward and one of the ladies got saved last night! Praise The Lord!!! So here are few pics, we are taking so many and we are stoked to be starting a new day today.

Thank you all for you prayers,

Da Tan Team!

Praise the Lord! Here we are!

19 07 2008

So after much anticipation and PRAYER! WE ARE HERE! This is the view that we had most of the EARLY AM!

Then around 10am or so we got to SEE this view(thanks so our tour guides Pastor Hank and Isaiah)!!!:

And a bit after that we got to check out this scenery as well!

Then once we hit Pandy Town we got to the place where we are bunking up for the week and here is the view! God is so GOOD!

Hey praise be to Jesus for getting us here safely and just blessing us so much already on our first day. Please be praying for us as we are getting ready to dig in and just run hard for Jesus!

17 07 2008

Things are getting exciting

2 07 2008

So while it’s been a little slow here on the blog since the original post rest assure that we have all been working like crazy to get ready for this big adventure. We have had some amazing meetings, and I think it’s safe to say the Lord has been working on all of us and preparing our hearts for His will to be accomplished in Roatan. Here’s just a few of the many verses that have been impressed on our hearts as we have been praying and seeking the Father:

  •  Colossians: 4:2-6
  •  Ephesians 6:10-18
  •  Psalm 117
  •  Psalm 143:10

It’s really exciting to read through these verses and see how the Lord seems to be not just confirming His will for us to be there, but His goodness to teach us of His mighty leading and His undeniable victory in Roatan. Keep stayed tuned to this blog, we will be trying to get a couple more updates out before we leave and depending on the internet situation when were there we hope to get a post or two out. Please continue to lift this team up as you read this and check in with the progress. We love you!
